Aaron Amamiya
The Phenomenal Phantom Spider

Character Info
A Spider-Man AU of Persona 5's Joker

AU Timeline
Aaron Amamiya wouldn't consider himself lucky in the slightest.His parents died when he was young, forcing him to move in with his aunt and uncle in a small town up north. But he would move back to Tokyo sooner than he'd have ever thought after coming across a powerful man forcing himself on some poor woman. Unable to just let this go, Aaron stepped in, and was sued for assault, despite barely even touching the man.He was sentenced to live a year in Tokyo on parole, living under the care of Sojiro Sakura at his cafe in YongenIt was at this point that things would take a turn for the stranger, as the night after he moved into Leblanc, he'd be awoken by a bright green light. The light came from a small drone, remotely piloted by none other than Futaba Sakura. She'd been investigating their parents' deaths for years (As Aaron's father and Futaba's Mother were lab partners, who both died in the same plane crash), and was hoping to get his help in looking into the Shido Corporation.Aaron agrees, and it's there, while sneaking into his father's old lab, that he is bitten by one of his father's genetically altered spiders.From there, you can probably guess the rest.He awakens to his powers, complete with a Persona that doesn't like him very much, but is hesitant to use them. Then Shiho Suzui gets kidnapped, forcing him and a few friends (Futaba, Makoto, Ryuji, and eventually Ann) to spring into action, taking down Kamoshida, Kaneshiro and his Enforcers (International Mercenaries made up of Shocker, Vulture, and Rhino) as they work to find out what happened to her.Eventually, they'd find her and several others, having been kidnapped and possessed by Shadows. The team would end up saving them, with Ryuji and Ann gaining Personas of their own... but still unable to save Makoto's father, who gave his life to stop the Shadows from wiping out all life in the city.As time went on, there'd be many more adventures as the team continued to protect the lives of those around them. Makoto and Futaba eventually getting Personas as well. The team expanded, gaining Haru, Yusuke, Morgana (who Aaron had adopted before he ever heard him speak), Goro, Sumire, Sophia, Hifumi, and even reserve members in Sae and Zenkichi.But despite their increased numbers, Aaron never takes it easy. He's always out there, patrolling the streets of Tokyo whenever he can.Because while the city has many Champions... there's only one-

Closer-To-Canon Verse
This verse sticks closer to the canon events of Persona 5 with a few small changes.For one, Aaron gets bitten by one of his father's spiders before his first day of school (How that happens, I have no idea)Secondly, when he awakens his Persona, his abilities are the same, so he's still not a Wild Card. The only difference is much like in the game, he can't use his powers outside the Metaverse... at least at first.The final change is that after the death of Yaldabaoth, Aaron's connection to the Metaverse reignites, keeping it from collapsing, and allowing his powers to work out in the real world. From there, he can do his usual Spider thing as he does in every other Verse. This could change the events of Strikers and the Third Semester drastically, but exactly how much I haven't quite figured out yet.For Tumblr, the tags for this verse are-
#Codename Spider - Mid P5\R;
#I Decide my Destiny - Third Semester;
#Adjusting Arachnid - Post P5/R;
#Back in Business - Mid Strikers;

Powers
Aaron has strength and speed equal to that of the Spider-Man of 616. And while he lacks Spider-Sense, his reaction speed is on par as well.Additionally, to make up for his missing 6th sense, he has his Third Eye, which can be used by him or Arséne to see heat signatures through walls, as well as see hidden details in the environment. Think of it like Batman's Detective Vision in the Arkham Games.Aaron also has a somewhat unique, if underused, ability to turn invisible to all spectrums in darkness. He doesn't give off heat, his movements are completely silent, and he can activate it anytime he's not in direct light. The only way to detect him would be to use either a Navigator's Persona, or to simply light up the area.Finally, Aaron has an ability called Adrenaline Rush, which allows him to use any Persona Skills at no cost for a brief time, but the cost of all of it will take affect when it wears off. If he uses more stamina than he has, he will pass out. He tends to save this ability as a last resort.PersonaAaron isn't a Wild Card, unfortunately, so he only has Arséne. However, Aaron's bond with his Persona is... unique. Given the unusual method of his awakening, Arséne has been sort of desnyc'd from his user. As such, he's grown his own personality, which has caused him and Aaron to bicker on occasion.But it does have perks. Arséne can stay much further from Aaron than many other Personas, and can look around while unsummoned, essentially giving Aaron a second pair of eyes.Additionally, Aaron can summon Arséne to aid him in combat, either adding to his strikes, or acting on his own, making any fight into a 2v1. He can also summon Arséne inside himself, fusing the two together, and allowing Aaron to use his Persona's claws and razor-sharp spider legs (which replace his usual wings) as if they were his own. Both forms of summoning drain his stamina constantly outside of the Metaverse, but the fusion method drains half as quickly.Finally, we have his skills. Arséne comes equipped with a modified version of Eiha (Basic Curse Spell), Dream Needle (though its never seemed to work) and Dia (Basic Healing Spell)The Modified Eiha (Eiha Karamatta) produces a dark red web-like substance from the tips of the caster's fingers with a variety of uses. It's formation depends on the gesture done by the caster (More fingers mean thicker lines, fingers pointing in different directions splits the web to create a net, etc.) Similar to most Spider-Men, the webs are extremely strong, durable, and elastic. However unlike those, this webbing is made entirely of curse magic, which is where its unique properties come into play.Being made of curse magic, its relies on its target's affinity for curse. If neutral, the webs will behave as normal. If the target is weak to curse however, they will find the webbing burns to touch, and may find themselves feeling weaker the longer it binds them. If the target is resistant to curse, then the webbing will be extremely easy to tear for them. It can still support their weight, but they would need to be careful if they wish to rely on that. And if the target is immune to curse, it will refuse to stick to them at all.Finally, Aaron can set the webbing to explode, dealing a variable amount of curse damage depending on how much webbing was used, or even just cause it to dissolve harmlessly into smoke if he so chooses. This is usually signified by a snap, but that itself is unnecessary. He just likes to add a bit of flair. However causing the webs to explode will use a bit more stamina than if he'd just left it alone.The webbing will also dissolve on its own after 20 minutes of Aaron not being in it's general vicinity.Weaknesses
However, having a Persona that's active all the time has its drawbacks. Arséne is weak to both Bless and Ice, so Aaron is weakened by the cold, being inside a church, or coming in contact with Holy Water.Additionally, extreme cold can easily incapacitate him, leaving him vulnerable to attack. It can even kill him much faster than an average person if left in such a state for too long.
Equipment
Being a self taught inventor, Aaron is constantly equipping himself with new tech to aid him in his mission. This page will describe his usual arsenal.Firstly, though not quite an invention, is Aaron's-Costume
His Costume is not a physical piece of apparel, but rather a manifestation of his rebellious spirit, similar to the rest of the Phantom Thieves. As such, he can summon it upon his person at any time he wishes, should the need arise. Also, because his costume isn't a physical item, it is controlled entirely by his cognition of it. And since Aaron's control of his cognition is so well practiced, he can adjust its appearance and attributes as he needs. This means enemies cannot grab him by his coattails, as they will just move out of the way on their own, and similarly, he can't trip over them, as they will never get underfoot.Wild Cards
These are custom made metal cards with spheres of cognitive energy in the middle, located on a metallic belt, that allow Aaron to use other spell affinities, with three of each type (apart from one) in its own separate pocket, with the lids color coded for each respective spell type.These all do minor spell damage when used separately, but can be combined for a stronger attack, equal to the second or third tier of the spell, depending on how many are used. They're mostly used for checking/striking weaknesses of any cognitive based enemies, such as shadows or rogue Persona users, but they can also be remotely triggered, allowing them to used as traps.In the middle of the belt however is a large ball of Almighty energy, equivalent to the highest tier of the spell. This is mainly used as a last resort, and cannot be easily triggered. But when its armed, nothing will stop the devastating blast that follows.Twin Daggers
These are rarely used, but rather effective weapons. The first was found in his coat when he first gained his powers, while the second was a gift.The former has a dull blade and a custom hilt with a spider on it, while the latter has a sharp blade, and a standard hilt. He tends to use the dull one for parrying enemy attacks, and uses the sharp one for cutting free binds or other such things, rarely for actual combat, only taking it out if he knows his opponent can take it, or has a thick hide/robotic shell.Finally Aaron has a custom made grappling hook that he rarely uses (he does have the webs after all), but will whip it out if he's low on/wants to conserve stamina.

Appearance
Being a variant of Joker, Aaron's appearance is nearly identical to Ren. The only real difference being the color of his eyes, being a slightly bluer shade.
Shipping
Muse is straightWill ship with any of the female Phantom Thieves (except Futaba because he sees her as a sister), as well as any other girl around his age (as in if he's a second year in high school, they should also be in high school, or at most a first year in college), regardless of verse or if they're an OCChemistry is required however.All ships are in their own seperate timelines. Aaron is extremely faithful to his partners.
Hi, I'm Volt (He/Him/His if you're curious). I'm 25 and I've been working on this AU since 2019. While I don't think my ideas are the most original in the world, this world and this character are something I'm very proud of.I also draw/make all the art and edits you see on this page, and on my accounts in general. (Though, I'm still learning so its not all that great) However, I will provide credit if I ever use art from unofficial sources either in the image itself, or in the image's description as to not break up the pacing of whatever post its included in.I'm a huge nerd, and often include little references to things I like in my writing. Metroid, Sonic, Spider-Man, Persona, heck just superheroes in general are some of my favorites.I can be a bit shy, since I have autism as well as general social anxiety. But I do my best to cope with that, and try to venture out of my comfort zone from time to time.Though I like to think I'm friendly person. I try to be as open, accepting, and understanding as I can be. As long as you're not hurting anyone, you can do or be whatever you want, and that's cool with me!I also always try to make sure I read the pinned post of whoever I'm writing/want to write with, so I can make sure I abide by their rules, as I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable.I can't be as active as I'd like, as I stream rather often with friends, and sometimes life gets in the way. But I really enjoy writing! I always put my all into whatever I write
I'm a pretty friendly guy, so I don't have too many guidelines.I only ask that you be respectful and patient, as this is just a hobby, so life always has to come first. You do that, and I'll be sure to repay the favor.I am semi-selective, though mostly that just means I like to have a general idea of the character I'm writing with. I am pretty shy though, so if I'm following you, but we're not mutuals, I probably won't want to bother you.I tend to write long replies, sometimes novel length, but I can do smaller ones from time to time. However, please don't feel pressured to match my length. Just write as much as you're comfortable with!I do occasionally write Guest Characters (especially in my main verse), though I try to only do so when it makes sense for the narrative, and I'll typically only do one at a time.I will occasionally write some darker topics (death, murder, abuse, etc) as the Persona series and some superhero comics often deal with such things, though I won't go into too much detail. I'm not too terribly comfortable with stuff like that, but sometimes it needs to be covered. I will do my best to tag them accordingly (ie tw: trigger here). As for my triggers, I'm a major arachnophobe... and yes, I see the irony, but please no pictures of spiders.Something else that's important to note is the verses I default to. If your character is from Persona (aside from Joker for obvious reasons), I will use the P5/Closer-to-Canon verse unless otherwise plotted, just to make things simpler. For everyone else, I'll default to my main verse (including Joker)Also, I do write lewd on occasion (though not often), but that will never be done publicly/done in a mature Read More post on Tumblr, and will only be done if both muses are of age, consenting, and are shipped. I also like to build up to that, as Aaron's not the type to put out immediately, so its not something that will happen right away, if it happens at all.Finally, a quick disclaimer that there will occasionally be spoilers for Persona 5, Persona 5 Royal, and Persona 5 Strikers, as all 3 play a part in the AU (less so OG P5), and I have a verse that follows that canon more closely. There may also be spoilers for various Spider-Man things, be it comics, games, movies or TV shows.I will try to make sure I tag these spoilers accordingly however, just so I don't accidently spoil anything for people.
